About Pet Insurance Compare
Pet Insurance Compare is a website that compares US dog and cat insurance. It isn't an insurance company, an agent, or a broker.
The publishing team behind pet-insurance-compare.com runs the site. Get in touch by email: hello@pet-insurance-compare.com. The site is for adults, and it doesn't knowingly gather information from children under 13. To see plans or prices, you never need to send a request.
No insurer can pay to change its own plan terms, its spot in a list, or the description written about it. Because plan rules change over time, each fact we publish comes with a link to its source.
What this site does
Pet Insurance Compare collects plan terms for dogs and cats from documents each insurer publishes itself. You can compare enrollment ages, exclusions, your deductible, and price examples. Your deductible is what you pay yourself before the plan begins covering bills. You can also check reimbursement, which is the share of a covered bill a plan pays back, plus the annual limit, or yearly payout cap. Every summary lists the waiting period, the time before coverage starts.
We also track state pet insurance laws, based on state statutes and regulators, along with national average premiums. Insurers that publish a price for the species, age, and breed of your pet come first in the plan finder, lowest price first. After those come insurers with no published price, listed without one.
What we don't do
The insurer's own documents govern every policy, and our site stays within clear boundaries:
- We do not sell insurance, quote it, or bind it, and we give no insurance, legal, financial, or veterinary advice.
- We set no cookies, and we run no outside analytics, no advertising scripts, and no social scripts.
- Standard server logs are kept by our web host for a limited time. First-party code records the number of views and clicks.
Insurer, regulator, and study links open pages on other sites, which we don't control. The site comes as is; where the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses that come from using it.
What happens with a plan request
Plan requests are optional. If you choose to send one, you enter the species, age, and breed of your pet, together with your name, contact details, and ZIP code. One insurance agency, chosen for your pet, receives your request and may contact you about pet insurance plans. That agency may pay the site, and agreeing to hear from it isn't a condition of buying anything.
No personal information is sold here for money, though sending your request along may count as sharing in the eyes of some state privacy laws. Plan requests are stored no longer than needed, just to forward them and answer questions. Local storage in the browser on your device holds your plan finder answers, and clearing site data removes them.
